Jovin Med is an independent apothecary's notebook — five medicines written up from the label and the trials, then signed off by a working general practitioner.
Why five medicines, not five hundred
Sprawling drug directories spread themselves so thin that nothing on them is really argued out. We went the other way. The whole journal is five remedies, one comparison piece and five field notes, kept that narrow on purpose so every page can be reasoned against the current label rather than stamped from a template. Nothing is sold here, no pharmacy is ranked, and no manufacturer buys a line of the copy.
What sits in the cabinet
The five span three very different problems. Three are phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors for erectile dysfunction — tadalafil (Cialis), sildenafil (Viagra) and vardenafil (Levitra). One is finasteride (Propecia) for male-pattern hair loss. One is the antibiotic amoxicillin (Amoxil). Each gets a full remedy page; a lighter field note in the Notes section answers the questions people actually type into a search bar.
How a page is built
Every remedy shares a spine — a quick-reference card, then mechanism, chemistry, pharmacokinetics, dosing, safety and a reader mailbag — but the middle chapters are reshuffled per page so no two read like a carbon copy. Comparison and chemistry tables appear where they actually swing a decision, not as padding.
The hand behind it
A draft leaves the writing desk and goes to Dr. Rosalind Hartley, whose name, field and profile page stay attached to the work. A named clinician standing behind the words carries more weight than an anonymous "medically reviewed" stamp.
What we read to write it
The source material is the current FDA prescribing information, EMA assessments, MedlinePlus and named peer-reviewed trials, with outbound links so you can check the working. Where a live label and one of our pages disagree, the label wins — starting with the rule that PDE5 tablets and nitrates must never be combined.
